Brendan Barker is a DMA Choral Music student at the University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign) where he studies with Dr. Andrew Megill and is teaching assistant for the UI Chamber Singers. Prior to his work at UIUC, he served as Director of Music and Organist at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish (Robinson Township, PA) as well as Adjunct Professor at Duquesne University’s Mary Pappert School of Music where he conducted the Pappert Men’s Chorale. Mr. Barker holds a Masters in Sacred Music from the University of Notre Dame and a B.S. in Music Education from Duquesne University. As a conductor, Mr. Barker has studied with Dr. Carmen-Helena Téllez (University of Notre Dame), Dr. Nancy Menk (St. Mary’s College), and Dr. Jan Harrington (Indiana University). His professional interests include vocal/choral pedagogy, early music, and interdisciplinary performance opportunities. (Fall, 2019)
